Marj Charlier

Fiction is the third career for Marj Charlier, the author of five published novels. After finishing her master’s degree at the University of Wisconsin, she worked at small and mid-sized dailies before joining the Wall Street Journal as a staff reporter. After twenty years in journalism, she got her MBA and began a second career in corporate finance. She wrote her first novel, Putt for Show, in 2013 while still working full-time. After retiring, she wrote the sequel, Drive for Dough, Hacienda, Professional Lies, and Thwack! She is currently writing a six-book series about a declining fictional town in Iowa, told through the eyes of six women who are trying to re-invent their town and themselves after their career and life plans have been upended. Marj was born in Iowa and now resides in Palm Springs full time with her husband Ben.
